Provide a brief synopsis of the story or stories, including any significant findings.
While there is no cure for the disease, The Alzheimer's Project shows that there is now genuine reason to be optimistic about the future. Executive produced by Maria Shriver, this multiplatform series takes a close look at groundbreaking discoveries made by the country's leading scientists, as well as the effects of this debilitating and fatal disease on those with Alzheimer's and on their families.
Judge's comments: They took a complex disease and really dissected it in a unique way. They entered the story from every conceivable angle. You saw the people on the front lines looking to understand the disease better and attack it. You also saw the toll the disease takes on the patients and loved ones. It was like the camera was a fly on the wall in so many cases ... and they took the time to let it breathe.
