We’re Rally Health, and we’re out to put health care back where it belongs — in the hands of individuals. We are a rapidly growing and well-funded digital health company, and we take a fresh approach to everything we do, particularly our editorial content. We write in a conversational tone, prize easy readability, and are passionate about maintaining the highest levels of ethical standards, accuracy, and clinical accuracy. As an independent editorial team, we use credible evidence-based information to guide our content decisions, and we report with objectivity and balance.

We’re looking for a versatile senior journalist who can edit, write, and program content across multiple platforms — mobile, social, and web. You’ll be a key part of Rally Health's agile editorial team, programming stories from a range of premium providers, writing and editing original health and wellness content for both B2C and B2B audiences, and publishing stories and graphics. The ideal candidate will be smart, self-motivated, and comfortable juggling many things in our fast-paced environment while maintaining a fanatic attention to detail. Prior experience with health care content is essential.

  • Plan, write, and optimize our popular email newsletters.

  • Analyze in-house data for trends and story ideas.

  • Copy edit a range of material, from stories and articles to product features and marketing material.

  • Develop and assign stories to freelancers as well as internal experts.

  • Write original stories that establish Rally as a fresh, credible voice and complement our partner content.

  • Edit, and if appropriate, develop and write case studies, white papers, survey reports and other high-quality branded content.

Requirements

  • Five-plus years mainstream media experience as a writer, editor, or content programmer, with health and wellness, medical, or science background required.

  • Familiarity with major international, federal, non-profit, industry, and academic sources of information on health policy, health delivery, public/population health, and clinical guidelines.

  • Familiarity with hierarchy of quality of evidence in clinical guidelines and clinical research.

  • Experienced content programmer with excellent editorial judgement and ability to package and program stories for maximum engagement while maintaining highest editorial standards.

  • Background in producing and handling a range of content, including text, photos, video, graphics, multimedia, interactives, and social posts.

  • Headline, copy editing, and photo editing experience, and familiarity with AP Style.

  • Able to convey complicated ideas with the right few words.

  • Comfortable with metrics, with demonstrated ability to monitor site performance for editorial insights and improvements. Familiarity with Google Analytics a plus.

  • Fluency in social media including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Snapchat.

  • Basic web publishing skills (HTML/XML, Photoshop, etc)  and experience with content management systems.

  • Comfortable in a dynamic startup environment and with juggling many tasks.

  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment with product managers, designers, marketers, and clinical experts.

  • BA/BS or graduate degree in journalism, communication, or related field.
